, you can help a child like Rosie put the pieces back after violence tears their world apart.
When violence tears a world apart, you can help put it back together.
, Rosie* was just six years old when her world was torn apart by extreme violence at home. For much of her young life, she watched her father violently assault her mother – once so badly her mum needed an ambulance to take her to hospital.
While her mother recovered, Rosie was separated from the only person who made her feel safe. When they were finally reunited, Rosie was a very different child.
She was anxious. She couldn’t sleep. She was terrified of being separated from her mum again. That fear stayed with her – at night, at school, and in everyday moments that should have felt safe.
Without expert, trauma-informed support, experiences like these can shape a child’s entire future.
Your donation today can help ensure Rosie – and other children like her – receive specialist, one-on-one care through Children Ahead so they can heal, recover and thrive.
Please donate today and help put a child's world back together.

From a broken world, to a whole one – the power of a year with Children Ahead.
Healing from extreme violence takes time. That’s why Children Ahead is a 12-month system of recovery – providing specialist one-on-one therapy they need to heal, recover and thrive.
Months 1-3: Safety and trust
Early sessions focus on helping the child feel safe and understood. Practitioners build trust with the child and their carers, often meeting them in familiar settings like school.
Months 3-9: Healing and growth
As trust develops, tailored support helps children process trauma, build coping skills, and regain confidence at home, school and everyday life.
Months 9-12: Moving forward
The final months focus on helping the child transition out of the program safely, with strong support in place to build stability, resilience and hope for the future.
Help make this year of healing possible.
Rosie didn't have the words to describe her trauma. So we provided her with the tools.
