When Millie, Aaron and Jessica* were taken into emergency care, they were traumatised.
The three siblings grew up in a home full of fear and chaos. Their parents were dealing with substance abuse and severe mental illness. One evening, things escalated, and the children experienced horrific violence.
Going back to their violent home – even for a single night – would have risked putting their lives in danger. A child protection order was filed immediately.

Each bag is filled with essentials like new underwear, pyjamas and toiletries. As well as a book, a toy and a cuddly teddy for extra comfort.
Without Buddy Bags, many children will spend their first night in foster care sleeping in their school uniform.
