Our Ambassadors

Meet the wonderful people who champion our mission to help ensure no childhood is stolen by violence, trauma or abuse.

Walter Mikac AM

In 1997, Walter established the Foundation in honour of his daughters, Alannah and Madeline, who were killed alongside their mother, Nanette, in an unspeakable act of violence one year earlier.

Today as our Founding Patron, Walter continues to advocate for children to be safe, strong and heard.

Melissa Doyle AM

Melissa Doyle is one of Australia’s most popular media personalities. A journalist and author, Melissa also hosts the weekend breakfast program for radio station smoothfm.

For nearly 14 years, Melissa has been a proud Ambassador of the Foundation, driven by her belief that all children deserve to be safe from violence.

Anna Simon

Anna Simon is a Sydney-based home cook, proud Calabrese Italian Australian and a mum of two. Known for appearances on The Chef’s Line and Dishing It Up on SBS, Channel 7’s Sunrise and The Morning Show, she loves bringing people together through food.

As a mum, Anna understands how important it is that every child feels safe, supported and loved. That’s why she’s proud to return as our Alannah & Madeline Day Ambassador, crafting a collection of delicious recipes to help make your Purple Picnic a success.
