Kita turns 22

By Kita

My 22nd Birthday.

This year, for my 22nd birthday, I’m not asking for gifts —I’m asking for something a little different. I’m fundraising for The Alannah and Madeline Foundation, a charity that’s incredibly close to my heart.

The Foundation supports children through care, prevention and support, providing practical and emotional supports to help children and young people live free from violence and trauma. Their work changes lives—and I know that firsthand.

Fifteen years ago, on one of the scariest nights of my life, I received a Buddy Bag.

It was packed with essentials: fresh pyjamas, socks and underwear, personal hygiene items, a book to calm my mind—and a teddy bear to hug when I needed comfort the most.

I’ll never forget how much that baby pink Roxy backpack and teddy bear Mackenzie meant to me in that moment. It told me someone cared. That I mattered.

Now, I want to help make sure more children get that same feeling of safety and support when they need it most.

If you’re able to give, please consider donating. Your kindness could change a child’s life.

Thank you for reading, for caring, and for helping me make my birthday truly meaningful <3>
