On 17 September, I'm hosting an Alannah & Madeline Day Purple Picnic, raising funds to provide much-needed Buddy Bags for children escaping violence.

Every year, around 11,000 Australian children escape violent or unsafe homes, often with nothing but the clothes they're wearing.

In that moment, their childhood is stolen by violence and fear.

A Buddy Bag packed with brand-new, essential comforts, like PJs, toiletries and a teddy should be waiting for every child who has fled danger. But right now, 1 in 2 children miss out, because the Alannah & Madeline Foundation simply can’t keep up with demand.
